The year that was at Windermere

It’s been a busy and successful 2018 at Windermere, with plenty of activity, both in the Sales Gallery, and on the construction site. Here’s a brief recap on the milestones, events and programs we delivered in our inaugural year.

DKO architecture and Modscape designed and constructed the 550-square metre, impressive modular Windermere Sales Gallery that features a children’s playground, pool with outdoor BBQ area all in time for our June launch.

In July we launched our first land release, consisting of 43 lots, which sold out quickly. Since then, the success has continued with various stages of the current, Monash Precinct selling out in a matter of weeks. Windermere has been extremely popular with over 340 lots sold in just nine months making it one of Victoria’s fastest selling communities.

October 11 was an exciting day when we celebrated the commencement of civil works construction with a ‘soil turning ceremony’ with staff, media and project stakeholders. Since then we’ve been busy preparing the foundations for Stages 1 to 4, which will accommodate the first 200 lots. Work also commenced on the large branch sewer on Greens Road that forms part of the major essential infrastructure required to service the entire Windermere estate.

Our Sales Gallery has been buzzing with activity over the last four months with various events for Windermere residents and the local community.

Windermere’s first Family Fun Day attracted hordes of locals to the Sales Gallery for a fun-filled day of entertainment, food and festivities.

As part of our commitment to education, we held free introductory coding and robotics workshops for primary school students eager to be creative and learn science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) skills, which are rapidly becoming fundamental for a wide range of new and emerging professions.

We invited our builder partners to an End-of-Year Builders’ Breakfast to mark the end of Windermere’s ‘ground-breaking’ 2018 and to show our appreciation.

To finish the year off, Santa even dropped in to the Sales Gallery!

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces at all of our events. We look forward to planning many more in the coming year.

In 2018 we also introduced programs to reward and assist our purchasers. The HomeSolution by Metricon program supplements the Victorian Government’s $10,000 First Home Owners Grant with an EXTRA $10,000. We’re pleased to report that we’ll be continuing to support this program in 2019, so for any first home buyers still looking to enter the market, this could be an opportunity for you.

We also launched our referral program where buyers of Windermere who refer a friend or family member who also purchase in Windermere, both receive a $500 gift card. This is our way of saying thanks!

We hope you enjoyed this recap of the year that was. If you want to read further details of these events, head to the news and community section (link to website) on our website, where you’ll find all the news we’ve shared over the past year.

We wish you all a safe and happy festive season and thank you for following us on our journey this year. Here’s to an equally successful and busy 2019!

Please note, the Windermere Sales Gallery will be closed from 20 December 2018 until 2 January 2019.
