Trivia Night – Launch of the Green Living Series 2019

This fun-filled evening of entertainment for all ages also helps raise awareness about some serious environmental issues and the solutions available. World Wetland Day
2 February

Celebrate World Wetland Day with the Werribee River Association, learning how to understand how wetlands work to protect the environment and learn about the plants and animals that live there.
Activities on the day will include:
• A guided walk to learn what plants and animals live in and around your local wetland
• Learning how to test water quality and understanding its importance
• Sampling for water bugs and learning some basic identification skills

Italian Opera Gala
9 February

The acclaimed 40-piece Melbourne Opera Orchestra will be performing at the Wyndham Cultural Centre on Saturday 9 February. Conducted by top opera soloist Greg Hocking, this evening of Italian Opera highlights includes ensembles from Rossini’s Barber of Seville, Puccini’s Madam Butterfly, Tosca and La Boheme, Verdi’s La Traviata, Nabucco and Rigoletto and Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana. Presented by one of Australia’s most acclaimed opera companies, this highly entertaining evening is not to be missed.

Point Cook Lunar New Year Festival
16 February

Celebrate the Chinese Year of the Pig at the Lunar New Year Festival in the heart of Point Cook. Have a fun-filled family day showcasing the multicultural diversity in and around the community through street food stalls, rides and jumping castles as well as live performances throughout the day including lion dances, traditional dances and for the first time a dragon dance, not to mention the spectacular fireworks to finish!
